Introduction to Wang Zeshuang
A famous sheng maker, arts and crafts artist, inheritor of the sheng intangible cultural heritage, executive director of the 1, 2, 3 and 4 Sheng Professional Committee, director of the Tianjin Musicians Association. In 2018 and 2019, he was successively named one of the top ten reformers and top ten makers of Chinese musical instruments by the Musical Instrument Making Reform Committee of the Chinese National Wind Instrument Society. He has improved and reformed the key sheng, alto sheng and bass sheng in terms of material selection, reed pronunciation principle, and timbre. They are widely used by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, the Taipei National Orchestra, the Central National Orchestra, etc. He has developed the 37-reed, 27-reed and 25-reed traditional sheng series, making it the most important school in the sheng series.
