Designed for the bass drum part to Bartok’s Miraculous Mandarin Suite, this is identical to what has always been traditionally used in the Cleveland Orchestra. It produces a particular and unique “thwack” to the sound that can’t be achieved by anything else. Limited to 50 pieces for this esoteric but necessary tool. When they’re gone, they’re gone.
