My Freer Percussion suspended cymbal mallets are an exact replica of what we have used in the Cleveland Orchestra for over 50 years now. These were especially designed for suspended cymbals, although they do sound great on marimba so go ahead. These replicas were back engineered from a pair of 1920s model yarn mallets that I received with my 1935 King George marimba. The core is heavy hard rubber custom made for this model and matches the weight and durometer of the original vintage cores. The yarn is a wool blend which is very tightly wound.
