The founder, Laurits Th. Larsen, is a professional violinist. Initially, he and his friends felt that there were no satisfactory cello strings on the market. By chance, he was entrusted by his friends to start making strings in the garage of his home. In 1990, he founded the string brand Larsen in Denmark. Later, it quickly emerged in the string music industry and became one of the world's leading string brands. In 1997, he received the Invention Award from the Confederation of Danish Industry.
