The six models of the Concerto Series were designed specifically for players looking for a heavier mallet with a big sound that will project through a large ensemble, but who don't want the contact noise that's usually associated with this type of mallet. Compared to standard, traditional mallets of similar hardness, the player will immediately notice proportionally more fundamental tone and greater volume. While many synthetic yarns suffer from high-pitched “tick,” this yarn is very quiet on the attack, while exceeding the durability and abrasion resistance of nylon. Some sets of Concerto mallets made in the 1980s and 1990s are still in use – and still not fraying!

The six models in the Concerto Series are designed for players who want heavier mallets that sound big enough to play in large ensembles, but don’t want the contact noise often associated with such mallets. The player will immediately feel a proportional increase in basic tone and volume compared to a standard traditional mallet of equal hardness. While many synthetic yarns suffer from the high-pitched "tick-tick" problem, this yarn is extremely quiet when played, while also outperforming nylon in durability and abrasion resistance. Some Concerto mallets produced in the 1980s and 1990s are still in use today and show no signs of wear!
