NICOLO FORMAGGIA Violin 4/4 GUARNERI DEL GESU 2025 (ITA)

NICOLO FORMAGGIA

Born the 4th of January 1992 in a family working in musical intruments field since four generations. In 2008 starts attending the international violin making school of Cremona where he studied new instruments making, under the guidance of M° Aromatico, and restaurations, under the guidance of M° Voltini and M° Amighetti. During theese years has the possibility to follow a retouching course under the guidance of M° Ortona (J&A Beare) going ahead working in his father workshop on new violins. In 2012 he graduates, obtaining the Diploma of “Maestro liutaio”.
In 2013 follows an european course of violin setting up with a special attention on the acoustic/phisic functions in the violin. During this year he has the possibility to works under the guidance of M° Primon, Osio, Montanari, Ortona, Gregg Alf and Ius and even follows courses from world famed professors and experts in every fields concering violin making from chemestry to varnishing.
During this course attends M° Andrea Shudtz workshop in via Aselli Cremona.
In July 2015 attends a Masterclass in Salo (Garda lake) under the guidance of Mr Filippo Fasser with a focus on violins setting up, resulting winner of a scholarship for the best student.
Today he works and lives in Crema (Cr) where he makes and restores, in his father workshop, violins and instruments of the classic string quartet with a special attention in violins setting up.
